Arizona-Based Artist AMPARO Finds Inspiration in Sweden for “Balderdash”

Born and raised in southern Arizona, Amparo has been exposed to the outdoors and wilderness from a young age. Always exploring every mountain range and chasing each day’s sunsets, the influence from Arizona can be seen and heard throughout my work.

Based in the deserts of southern Arizona, Amparo creates atmospheric and day dream induced melodies. She sources inspiration from the outdoors with a close connection with the wilderness of Arizona and its endless skies, but this time around, it’s about Sweden.

“This track and EP were written over the course of two days as I spent some time alone in the woods of Sweden. After borrowing a guitar from a friend, it felt right to go back to my roots and create songs from a variety of guitar loops and hooks.”

“This past summer I spent time in Gothenburg, Sweden surrounding myself with the nearby woods. The original intention was to continue crafting electronic music, however after a friend loaned me his guitar, the outcome was entirely different. Over the course of two days, I sat down and began to sketch out guitar hooks and loops, which would eventually transpire into this EP.”

After a brief perusal of her website, it’s also clear that she’s quite the photographer, and her music makes even more sense:
