Girl Gang got to ask London-based up & comer Avante Black about her latest tune “Acid Love”. We recently stumbled upon her through Sofar London’s online series:
She says she, “had taken inspiration in Moodyman when we developed the beat. As soon as we started playing some chords the lyrics came very naturally. I had just found new love and was exploding with excitement.”

“I think there has been a lot of focus on image and age being a female artist. Rather than just music. Which can sometimes be frustrating. It’s a tough industry and it will definitely play on your insecurities. It has, however, taught me a lot.”

Laurel
“I’d recommend my friend Laurel. She is so so talented and so beautiful. Her music is so raw and pure. A true inspiration.”
Hinds
“Also my girls from Hinds. They’re probably the first people you’d want at your party! They’re so much fun and incredible. I think they are a massive inspiration to young women just loving what they do and being such great humans doing it.”
