Gigi Rowe secretly loves a good romcom, but openly loves Cher. A “supernatural pop singer with a fantastical back story”, she just made her global appearance with the release of “Got That” — lead single off her project. Stardust Motel. The track, produced by long-time collaborator ill Factor (Sia, Kygo, Gwen Stefani), was selected to feature in Ubisoft’s massive global video game franchise Just Dance 2018 which hit stores earlier this week.
Stardust Motel follows Gigi’s debut single “Run The Night” (which featured in Just Dance 2017) and her Hello Gigi Rowe EP which garnered acclaim from the likes of NYLON, Galore, and LADYGUNN. Following a packed performance at Rock In Rio’s Game XP and an interview featured on the #1 Brazilian TV channel last month, Gigi continues to turn heads on the global scale.
Stardust Motel EP was released October 27, 2017, a 4-track collection that draws inspiration from the likes of Cyndi Lauper, Gloria Estefan / Miami Sound Machine and Shalamar, Stardust Motel is highlighted by buzzing synths, hypnotic beats, and Gigi’s captivating vocals.
Girl Gang Music got to ask Gigi a few questions about her back story. “My story has taken me from New York City to LA, Nashville to London, Stockholm and now Miami. I’ve been singing forever, and feel like all my experiences have brought me to this moment where I’m creating a whole universe, centered around a persona and vibe.” Part of that vibration comes from the women Gigi is surrounded by within the music industry, “I’m so inspired to be a woman in the music industry today…I love the positivity, the connected-ness and the spirit of lifting each other up as we’re all venturing on our respective journeys, and as our stories intertwine.”
Gigi’s career was massively launched this fall through popular dance game Just Dance:
Gigi said the creative process behind Stardust Motel took place in and out of the studio in Miami and while she was on the road during various travels:
“The title Stardust Motel came to me while I was driving north from Miami to NYC in my bold red mustang – that I’ve named “Liv Wilder” – I passed an exit where there was a retro sign for the Stardust Motel. It immediately clicked with me and I felt like it was a place I was connected to.”

Recently, Rowe performed in an arena for the first time at Rock in Rio in Brazil so much — the first time the artist ever visited South America. She says she hopes she gets to do more arena stage performances like this in 2018.
